Ducati Hypermotord 796 in Malaysia

Next Bike Sdn Bhd unveiled the twin-cylinder Ducati Hypermotard 796 at the Naza World of Bikes showroom at TTDI Plaza yesterday. A 2010 model in Ducati's stable, the 796 made its world debut last September at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan. Sitting a rung below the Hypermotard 1100, the 796 was designed to offer a more affordable entry point into Ducati Hypermotard motoring, with reduced weight helping to make up for a power deficit over its bigger sibling. Stepping in for the 1,078cc Dual Spark Desmodromic motor powering the 1100 is a smaller air-cooled 803cc L-twin engine. There's no running from the fact that smaller engine equates smaller output, and the 796 makes do with 9hp and 27.4Nm less than the 1100, producing 81hp @ 8,000rpm and 75.5 @ 6,250rpm. However, offsetting the motor's reduced juice is also reduced bulk, as the 796 tips the scales at a dry weight of 167kg, a full 5kg less than the 1100. Overseas reviews that we've referred to

New Hilux 2012

Toyota Hilux might not be the star in the family but recently, the Japanese automaker gave a makeover to the model for 2012. New Passat 2012

Today, the German carmaker has lifted the covers on the 2011 Passat. Like the new Golf 6, the 2011 Passat, while based on the current Passat's B6 platform, has been extensively remodelled. But for the roof, which carries over virtually unchanged, every panel of the updated Passat is brand-new. While the width and height of the '11 Passat remain unchanged, but total length has been extended by 4mm in both sedan and wagon form. To all intents and purposes, it looks like an all-new model. Wearing Volkswagen's new family face and rear end, the Passat gets the now ubiquitous LED daytime running lights and a four-bar chrome grille for all variants. The interior has also been overhauled, with a new instrument cluster and instrument switches and, for that touch of class, an analogue clock. There are also heated and cooled seats for top-shelf models and optional extras. For Europe, the Passat's engine options will include a 78kW 1.6 litre TDI engine, featuring battery regenerat

Cadillac SRX 2011

With the first-generation Cadillac SRX struggling to make gains in the luxury crossover segment since its debut in 2004, General Motors decided to give the 2010 Cadillac SRX a complete makeover right down to the very layout of the vehicle. Sharp, well-proportioned body work rides on a new platform, leading the new SRX to share very little with its previous incarnation. The first-gen SRX's rear-drive layout was ditched for a more compact, crossover style front-drive setup with available all-wheel drive. Now 4.8-inches shorter in length, this transformation dropped cargo space by 8.3 cubic-feet and eliminated the third row seats as well as significant amounts of rear-seat legroom.  The V-8 engine option is also gone, replaced by two V-6 engines, one of them turbocharged for higher performance.Despite its smaller size, the 2011 SRX sheds only a token amount of weight. That weight is a liability for the smaller V-6 powertrains as well as in the handling department, mak

The boot offers 450 litres of space which is more than a Ford Focus hatchback. Fold the seats forward and this capacity is extended to a whopping 800 litres which is enough to accommodate a week's shopping.

2012 Honda Civic Coupe and Sedan

The 2012 Civic will offer an unparalleled level of variety, with standard coupe and sedan models, two sporty Si versions, one hybrid, one natural-gas alternative-fuel variant and an all-new model—the Civic HF. In the tradition of the Civic CRX HF of years past, the new Civic HF has a similar goal of high efficiency with gasoline-only power, delivering a targeted EPA-estimated fuel-economy rating of 41 mpg on the highway[1]. Also delivering on the efficiency front is the all-new Civic Hybrid. The Civic HF is powered by a 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine. While Civic hybrid will also have a boost in its mpg of 45 mpg with the new lithium ion battery. "2012 Honda Civic Hybrid "   "Honda Civic Coupe 2012"

New MV Agusta 2011

MVAgusta's extraordinary build-quality and attention to detail are still evident, but the 2011 Brutale 1190 has been re-engineered to make it friendlier. Brembo radial brakes with plenty of feel, huge 50mm Marzocchi forks, and a fully adjustable Sachs shock at the rear are firm, yet compliant and comfortable. The inline-four engine that puts out 144 horsepower (claimed) and more torque than a Ducati 1098, now has traction control and fuel mapping that has eliminated the abrupt behavior of previous models. Redesigned ergonomics give the rider a lot more room, so the Brutale is now not just an exquisite-looking precision instrument; it is also a highly capable, real-world motorcycle.

AE-86 Reborn as FT-86

It’s finally here, some kind of glimpse of the new AE86 spiritual successor. It’s even got the numbers 86 in its name. The new Toyota FT-86 Concept shown at Tokyo Motorshow and its resemblance to the Toyota FT-HS Concept probably means it’s a more productionised evolution of the FT-HS, or that’s just how new Toyota sportscars are going to look like.

Toyota is currently working on a replacement for its Yaris compact car, which is expected to enter the market towards the end of the year and has been spied here for the first time in prototype form. The new hatchback will go on sale as the 2012 Toyota Yaris, both in three- and five-door trims. A new Yaris sedan is also expected to join the lineup shortly after the initial launch and eventually we may see a brand new hybrid variant, which we got a preview of in the form Yaris HSD concept car at the recent 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Designed as a direct rival for the Honda Fit Hybrid, a hybrid version of the Yaris is in keeping with Toyota’s commitment to offer a full hybrid lineup by 2020.
