The next-gen S-Class Coupe looks to be much more visually striking than
the more staid S-Class sedan. Upfront, the coupe sports wide-set
headlights with the requisite LED daytime running lights, and a stylish
grille similar to that of the upcoming CLA-Class.Engines are expected to be shared with the more powerful versions of the
S-Class sedan and also the S-Class AMG. A 2014 launch is very likely
but it's still not confirmed.The upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe,
seen testing at the Nurburgring.
This prototype is still heavily camouflaged, but we can tell the overall
shape of the body is a bit more athletic than the CL, with a lower roof
and rakish windows.
The same MRA platform used by the new S-Class is going to set the
benchmark in the luxury coupe segment. Weight reduction, improved ride
and handling are all on the table.
