Proton has introduced an Executive version of its 2.0 litre CVT Inspira – the variant replaces the 1.8 CVT Executive in the model lineup, slotting in between the 2.0 CVT Premium and 1.8 MT Executive. Most of the kit found on the 2.0 Premium is on the 2.0 Executive – from the steering wheel audio switches and paddle shifters to the auto light and rain sensors, it’s all here. What’s different, based on the feature specifications list, is that the Executive’s seats and door trim finishing is in fabric (as opposed to the Premium’s leather fitment), the wipers don’t feature automatic speed adjustment and the bodykit has been omitted. Fresh to the car is a new 16-inch wheel design. As for exterior colours, there’s no Plum Red for this one, with the Premium’s shade being replaced by Elegant Brown; otherwise, Tranquility Black, Genetic Silver and Solid White are shared by both variants. The big question of new registration for Kuala Lumpur vehicles once the WFY series ends has been answered.The new series will start with W followed by numbers from 1 to 9999 and ending with A.Disclosing this in Putrajaya, Thursday, Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said vehicle registration in the city was currently running at WYK 6xxx and that the WYY series (ending at WYY9999) was expected to run out in July."In connection with this, it has been decided that new registration of vehicles for the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur after the WYY series will begin with W 1 A and end at W 9999 A."The next in the series will be from W 1 B till W 9999 B, followed by W 1 C and so on," he told a press conference after attending a briefing on the Transport Ministry in Putrajaya.After the series ends at W 9999 Y, it will continue with WA 1-9999 A , then WY 1-9999 Y, followed by WAA 1-9999 A till WAY 1-9999 Y.The new series will end at WYY 1-9999 Y.
